Calda Lunde, age 84, of Glendive, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Billings Clinic in Billings.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Avis Anderson officiating. A private interment will be held in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Calda was born on December 13, 1931 in Terry to Clarence and Mary (Green) Starr, the second of four children.  She graduated from Dawson County High School, class of 1949.

Calda was united in marriage to Bland Lunde on April 29, 1951 in Glendive. They raised three boys, Ken, Bob and Mark. Calda worked at the Glendive Sales Yard for the Granmoe’s and was a devoted employee of Dr. Roman Zuroff, Dr. Ken Zuroff and Dr. John Sparr.

Calda was a devout Christian who deeply loved her Lord and her family. She was unassuming and hard-working; like our precious Lord, she gave unconditionally and liberally. She was a gifted homemaker and excellent cook. She loved flowers, being with her family and dancing with her husband, Bland.

Calda was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary; and her son, Mark. She joined them in Heaven on Mark’s birthday, Good Friday.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, Bland Lunde of Glendive; her son, Ken (Tammy) Lunde of Glendive; her son, Bob (Lynn) Lunde of Miles City; her brother, Norman (Lorraine) Starr of Big Timber; her sister, Betty Sauther of Billings; her sister, Norma Jean (Danny) Peterson of Glendive; six grandchildren, Jason (Julie), Lance (Caitlin), Levi, Markala (Chris), Jenny and Mimi; and five great-grandchildren.

Should friends desire, memorials are suggested to the “Loaves and Fishes” fund at Zion Lutheran Church, 401 Riverview Avenue, Glendive, Montana 59330.
