James “Jim” Peltier, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 10, 2015. Jim was born August 9, 1954, in Soda Springs, Idaho. He was raised in Wells, Nevada, spending most of his childhood on the Peltier Ranch in Clover Valley. Jim graduated from Wells High School in 1972.
Jim met the love of his life, Deb, after moving to Montana. The two were married in March 1984. Jim attended Dawson Community College and The University of Great Falls, achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for years at the Dawson County Correctional Facility in Glendive, MT. Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend with a kind spirit and sense of humor, all the way up to the end.
Jim left several family members here on earth to including his children, Jeremy Pliley (Medford, OR), Michael Peltier (Glendive, MT), Amanda Peltier (Belgrade, MT) and Allison Peltier (Ft. Morgan, CO); his grandson, Easton James Peltier; his brother, Robert (Jeanie) Peltier, and sisters, Diane (Larry) Humphrey, Sandy Watson, Kathryn Hadaway, Sharon Stewart, and Brooke Peltier; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Deb Peltier; father, Robert Peltier; mother, Nona McNeal; brother, Martin Peltier; and sister, Julia Shoup.
Burial services will be held in Fort Peck, MT in May and in Wells, NV at the Peltier Ranch in June. Exact dates to be determined at a later date.
