Margaret Louise Malmend, 87, of Glendive passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Glendive Medical Center’s Extended Care.
At Marge’s request no services are planned at this time. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Marge was born on January 16, 1929 to Archie and Francis (Hoffman) Brunelle. Marge was one of seven children born, raised and educated in Mandan, N.D. After graduating from high school, Marge moved to Glendive and married Lloyd Malmend. To this union six daughters were born. In the early years Marge enjoyed spending time at Fort Peck Lake in Montana as well as playing bridge with her friends & neighbors.
Marge worked as the head housekeeper at the Best Western Jordan Inn for over twenty years. She shared her work ethic with many young people over the years. After “retiring” Marge spent her days babysitting four of her great-grandchildren. In her later years she enjoyed listening to music as well as doing the word jumble from the newspaper. During the fall of 2010 Marge moved into the Wibaux County Nursing Home where she spent the next five and half years. On August 1, 2016 Marge moved to Glendive Medical Center Extended Care where she resided until her death.
Marge is preceded in death by her infant daughter; her parents; 3 sisters; two brothers; and one son-in-law.
Marge is survived by her children, Susan (Jim) Buelow, Eileen (Gene) Bauer, Nancy (Dale) Nyberg, Joan Angelos and Jeanne (Brian) Loberg; ten grandchildren, Terresa, Lisa, Melissa, Tracy, Brian, Eric, Tanya, Derek, Leah and Heather; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons and one on the way; one sister, Mickey Tokach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
