Gary Eugene Quinn, age 64, of Glendive, Montana, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Glendive Assembly of God Church in Glendive with Pastor Brad Kelly officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Gary Eugene Quinn was born on August 24, 1951 to Marjorie (Jean) and Edward Eugene Quinn in Logansport, Indiana. He was the third born of five children. He graduated from Lewis Cass High School with the class of 1969. During his younger years, Gary played on many softball and baseball teams and he was an avid drag racer.
Gary began his working career at an early age working at a service station, and was a proud employee of Bridger Pipeline at the time of his death for thirty-four years as a Area Supervisor. Gary married the love of his life, Jackie Chism in 1975 and to this union two children were born. They were happily married for forty years. Together they moved from Indiana to Montana in 1981.
Gary was often described as a big man with a bigger heart. He enjoyed hunting deer and elk with his family and friends. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, loved cheering them and other local kids at sporting events and was often heard questioning the officials. Gary was well known for his countless stories and loved to tell who ever would listen.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanne Miller and son-in-law, Kentley Holley.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Quinn; siblings Pat St. Clair, Carol Woolever and Martha Jane Brittian all of Indiana; children, Ed (Carlena)Quinn and Chrissy Holley; and five grandchildren, Jayden, Avery and Baylee Holley and Carson and Adelaide Quinn. Whom he dearly loved.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gary’s name to ABC Baseball, Babe Ruth and Dawson County 4-H.
