Terrance “Terry” E. Bronson, age 78, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 in Glendive.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Terry was born on August 18, 1938 in Glendive to parents Lawrence and Dora (Barr) Bronson. He was raised and educated in Glendive, and graduated high school with the class of 1956. After high school, Terry joined the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif., and was stationed in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1960. Terry married Geraldine Hill in 1957, and to this union three children were born; Teri Lee, Bradley and Robert. This marriage later ended in divorce. Terry moved back to Glendive, and worked at a variety of jobs including the oilfield, KXGN, Midrivers, Tab Electronics and Motorola- which moved the family to Billings and later to Kennewick, Wash., before returning to Glendive. Terry started working as an electrician with the railroad until he retired in 1979. He met Mary Lamon and the two were married on February 14, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nev. He gained a step-daughter, Jodi, through this marriage. The couple resided in Glendive until the time of his passing.
Terry was an avid agate hunter, and was exceptionally talented at cutting and polishing the rocks he found. He enjoyed fishing, bow fishing and yard work. He was very well read and kept up with current events and enjoyed discussing politics. He loved watching football, especially if the Green Bay Packers were playing.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Bronson; and sister, Cherlyn Petersen.
Terry is survived by his wife, Mary of Glendive; children, Teri Lee (Marty) Riedlinger of Rapid City, S.D., Bradley (Deb) Bronson of Sheridan, Wyo., Robert Bronson of Glendive; step-daughter, Jodi (Jason) Halvorson of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; brothers, Rodney Bronson of Glendive, and Randy Bronson of Glendive; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
