Kenneth “Kenny” Paul Baisch, age 86, of Glendive, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Greg Lucido officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Kenny was born in Glendive on February 12, 1929 to Martha Baisch. He was raised in rural Glendive by his uncle and aunt, Gust and Lydia Miller. Kenny was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He attended Amo School and at the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp where he was stationed in the South Pacific. Upon returning home, Kenny was active in the Army Reserves for thirteen years then the National Guard for fourteen years. Kenny was employed by Montana-Dakota Utilities for three years.
Kenny met and later married Anna Roesler on June 4, 1961 and to this union three children were born. That same month, he went to work for the Montana Department of Transportation where he remained until his retirement in August of 1989. Using the skills and knowledge he learned from being raised on a farm, Kenny worked for several farmers in the area. He especially enjoyed driving beet truck, which he did for many years. He also drove the Dawson County High School activity bus for seven years.
Kenny was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion where he served as commander and adjutant. Kenny was very proud to be a member of the Glendive Veterans Honor Guard.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edwin, Walter, Clarence and Donald Miller; sisters, Emma Ring and Hulda Huber; half-brothers, Duane and Milton Novakovich.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Baisch of Glendive; daughters, Janice (Russel) Kastner and their children, Alexander and Alana of Conrad, Mont., and Connie (Brian) Felstet of Great Falls and their children, Cally and Kaci of Missoula; son, Kevin (LaDora) Baisch of Glendive; sisters, Norma Harrison of Glendive, and Tillie Carrico of Miles City; half-brothers, Raymond (Carol) Novakovich of Glendive and Terry Novakovich of Sheridan, Wyo. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
