Patricia J. “Pat” Hansen, age 81, of Glendive passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Greg Lucido officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Pat was born on June 4, 1936 in Minatare, Neb., a daughter of Adam and Leah (Haffner) Haas. She was the oldest of four children. She moved from Neb. to Dawson County, Mont. in 1941 and attended schools in the Glendive area graduating in 1954. Pat was united in marriage to Dick Hansen on August 2, 1953 and to this union three daughters were born.
In addition to being a homemaker, Pat worked part time as an Avon representative. She formed many lasting friendships while working in this capacity. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was active in church Sunday school activities. During this time she also served as a 4-H leader for her daughters’ groups. Dick’s job in the oil field industry took them to numerous locations including: Denver, Colo.; Roosevelt, Utah; and Sidney, Mont. before retiring in Glendive. After retirement they spent many enjoyable years at their Fort Peck cabin fishing and boating.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dick and her parents.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Gary) Jacobsen of Chandler, Ariz., Jacki (Bill) Reynolds of Glendive and Boni (Tom) Monks of Myton, Utah; seven grandchildren, Dustin (Stephanie) Shypkowski, Karly (Brad) Knight, Beau Monks, Josh Reynolds, Jessica (Travis) Huber, Kyle Jacobsen and Derek Jacobsen; nine great-grandchildren, Haley and Ty Shypkowski, Shelbi McMullin, Kaecee, Jordynn and Rian Knight, Emersyn and Breck Huber and Addie Jacobsen; one brother, Gary (Pat) Haas; two sisters, Judy (Allan) Broeder and Arlene (Danny) Kaylor; two sisters-in-law, Karen (Vern) Deaton and Lois Hansen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
