Faye Scherz, age 84, of Glendive, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at the Billings Clinic in Billings.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Bethlehem Mennonite Church in Bloomfield. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Bethlehem Mennonite Church following the visitation hour. Pastor Darrell Nefzger will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Mennonite Cemetery in Bloomfield. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Faye was born on May 5, 1933, in Colton, Neb. to parents James and Ina (Himmelright) Thomas. She grew up in North Platte, Neb. On April 10, 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert Scherz. They were married 65 years before his death. To this union 5 children were born. After the children were raised, Robert and Faye moved to Mont., where they resided in Glendive until the time of each of their passing.
Faye enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress; she liked reading, poetry and gardening. Her favorite flowers were roses and she loved growing them. She enjoyed family and her quiet life spent with her husband Robert.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; her daughter Kathleen; and her brother Forrest.
Faye is survived by her children Michael (Sue) of Idaho, Glen (Tracy) of Neb., Glenda of Neb., and Chris of Glendive; her siblings Carol Thomas of Mich., Avis Thomas of Mich., Audrey Paulson of Neb. and Cletus (Gwenda) Thomas of Iowa; and 5 grandchildren.
