Lois Gregerson Sadorf

Lois Gregerson Sadorf, age 90, of Glendive, was called home on November 16, 2017, the day of her anniversary, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care in Glendive. 

Visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. A vigil service was held at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schreiber officiating. Rite of Committal followed in Dawson County Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. 

Lois was born to Pauline and Floyd Gregerson on April 21, 1927 in Hayward, Wis. Lois went to grade school and high school in Hayward, and graduated high school in 1944. She attended nurses training at St. Joseph of Nursing School in Minot, N.D., and graduated in 1947. She worked for a short time in Jamestown, N.D., before coming to Glendive, working at the Northern Pacific Hospital, where she met her future husband, Albert “Buzz” Sadorf. Lois and Buzz were married on November 16, 1948, in Hayward. She worked for many years for Dr. Thompson and Dr. Chambers as their office nurse, before becoming the county health nurse for Dawson County Health Department and retired in 1982. 

Lois was a member of the BPOE Does (which she received the honor of Doe of the year 1988,) the hospital auxiliary, and Homemakers club. She enjoyed volunteering and checking blood pressures at the senior center and fixing hair at the nursing home. She enjoyed knitting mittens, hats and sweaters for family and friends, and spent many hours sewing and making clothes for her growing family.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Buzz”; son, James; sisters, Joanne Gajewski and Rosemary Flower; and brothers, John and Tom Gregerson.

Lois is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Judy (Dan) Owens of Helena, Greg (Myrna) Sadorf of Glendive, Jane Jarvis of Fort Peck, Richard (Brenda) Sadorf of Wibuax, Mary (Joe) Fabian of Glendive, Bill (Anne) Sadorf of Glendive, Bob (Roxie) Sadorf of Glendive; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois is also survived by her sister, Judy (Terry) Ashley of Portage, Wis.; and one brother, Burton (Nancy) Gregerson of LaCrosse, Wis.
