Barbara Ann Hansen, 75, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Blair House in Burlington, Iowa.
Born July 30, 1941 in Devils Lake, N.D., she was the daughter of Ernest Oliver and Elda Beatrice Holm Ramberg. On August 11, 1963, she married William Hansen, making their home in Glendive.
She graduated from high school in Edmore, N.D. and teacher’s college in Mayville, N.D. Mrs. Hansen was a school teacher and after raising her family, she owned and operated a bakery in Glendive.
After retiring, she traveled with her husband, Bill, settling in Iowa in 2010 to be closer to her sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Jo (Troy) Lobdell of Decatur, Texas; her son, Paul (Lisa) Hansen of North Branch, Minn.; one sister, Mona (Don) Engebretson of Middletown, Iowa; granddaughters, Kylie and Tori Lobdell and Ashley King; grandsons, Alex King and Jacob Hansen; and a special nephew, Michael Engebretson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and there will be no services for Barbara Ann Hansen. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Glendive.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice, West Burlington. Elliott Chapel, New London, is assisting the family with arrangements.
