LaVerne E. Oellermann, age 92, of Glendive, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Greg Lucido officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
LaVerne was born on September 26, 1925 in Glendive to parents Oscar and Lorraine (Seekins) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Glendive, and graduated from Dawson County High School with the class of 1943. After high school, LaVerne worked at Northern Pacific Hospital for a few years. On June 22, 1947 she was united in marriage to Vernon Oellermann in Bloomfield. To this union, four children were born; Stuart, Douglas, Steve, and Dean. The family lived in Bloomfield and LaVerne spent her days raising her family and being a farmwife. In 1983, the family moved into Glendive, where LaVerne resided until the time of her passing.
LaVerne enjoyed playing the piano and organ and played music for her church, gardening, her flowers, doing yard work, and playing Solitaire. She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vernon; her brothers Harold Johnson and Duane Johnson; daughters-in-law Denette Oellermann and Nila Oellermann; granddaughter Natalia Oellermann; and grandson Kevin Oellermann.
LaVerne is survived by her children Stuart (Manuela) Oellermann of Auburn, Wash., Doug (Sharon) Oellermann of Alexandria, Va., Steve Oellermann of Glendive, and Dean Oellermann of Glendive; sister Yvonne Hartze of Helena; sister-in-law Mary Johnson of Dubois, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
