Stephanie Ann Cooley, age 51, of Glendive, went to be with our Lord Jesus on November 7, 2017 after complications from a recently detected lung cancer. She was the beloved wife of Darren Cooley and loving mother of four children.
She was born on November 17, 1965, the daughter of Lita Jeanne Baxter and Donald Lee Horne.
At a young age Stephanie moved to Montana and graduated from Roundup High School with the class of 1984. On October 28, 1989 in Lewistown, she was married to Darren Cooley and together they moved to Glendive. Stephanie resided the rest of her life in Glendive with her husband and children. She worked as a registered nurse at the Sidney Health Center for 25 years and was continuing her education to become a nurse practitioner. She helped many children as a school nurse, worked at the community health center and was a leader in the local 4-H program. Her favorite hobby was creating quilts for important milestones in her friends’ and family’s lives. She also loved scrapbooking and taking photos to capture moments in her family’s life.
She is survived by her husband, Darren B. Cooley of Glendive; four children, Allison, Hannah, Reed and Emily; her mother, Lita Jeanne Townsend and husband Bob Townsend of Pendleton, Ore.; her father Donald L. Horne of Portland, Ore.; stepfather Carl T. Perry of Roundup; and five sisters, Susan E. Simpson (Shaun) of Pendleton, Ore., Paula J. Perry-Walker (Bruce) of Lewistown, Pamela J. Adolph (Andy) of Roundup, Andrea I. Nelson (Justin) of Lexington, Ore., and Sidorela Risto-Sanchez (Jake) of New Jersey; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, April Christine Perry Parker.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 11 at 1 p.m. at the Community Bible Church in Musselshell, Mont. with Pastor Lynn Rettig officiating. Graveside service and a gathering at Musselshell School will immediately follow. The Glendive Alliance Church will host a memorial service on Tuesday, November 14 at 1 p.m.
